Who is Hardware Studios?
Hardware Studios is the collaboration of Dale (Table Top Gun), a longtime kitbasher and scratchbuilder who leveraged 15 years of engineering experience into a means to distribute and replicate tiny spaceships, and Dave (Imperial Terrain), RPG-player turned 3D-printing wizard.
In 2017, Dale started taking the stockpile of 3D models he had been modeling for fun and optimizing them for printing, and shortly thereafter, opened his Shapeways shop with a single hovertank design. Amazingly, someone bought it, so he uploaded another design, and then another. Some months (and dozens of miniatures) later, Dave approached Dale about sizing up some X-wing-scaled models for use with Imperial Assault and Star Wars: Legion, and the partnership was born. Suddenly, with the ability to print far larger models than would be affordable on Shapeways, new possibilities appeared. Between Shapeways and Dave, a full line of miniatures was possible, all printed and hot off the plate.
Now, Hardware Studios makes vehicles and terrain for its homegrown forthcoming game, Oasis, as well as miniatures designed to support other 6mm-scale games like Battletech, X-wing, Horizon Wars, and Epic: 40,000.
